Pastoral Care (PC) at the College operates in a vertical structure, with each PC group comprising students from Years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. This structure promotes positive relationships, leadership opportunities, and a strong sense of belonging across year levels.
Year 7 students receive a special welcome into the College community on their first day. On this occasion, they meet the Year 11 students and are introduced to their buddy. Buddies are senior students who, through a variety of activities throughout the year, form positive and supportive relationships with Year 7 students by offering friendship, guidance, and encouragement.
On their first day of school, Year 7 students also meet their PC teacher. Students remain in daily contact with this teacher for the duration of their time at the College. For parents and carers, the PC teacher is a key point of contact for issues or concerns, particularly those relating to attendance and uniform.
All students are members of a PC group. Each PC group includes students from Years 7 through to 12 and provides regular opportunities for interaction across different ages and stages of schooling. In addition, all members of a PC group belong to the same Sporting House, further strengthening connections and school spirit.
Pastoral Leaders (PMLs) have overall responsibility for the wellbeing and pastoral care of students within a particular year level. They work closely with PC teachers and provide an additional point of contact for parents and carers when concerns or issues arise.
